Handel's MESSIAH
Cantoris is proud to present the glorious Messiah by George Frideric Handel.
Although the Messiah is now a musical rite of the Christmas holiday season, it was originally an Easter offering. Composed in 24 days from August to September 1741, the composition was completed in 24 days, and premiered in Dublin, Ireland on April 13, 1742. For many amateur choirs, performing the Messiah is often the high point of the year, usually as part of their Christmas programme or year-end performance. Cantoris has decided to go back to it's (Messiah) roots and perform it around the Easter period. SOLOISTS Cantoris will be joined by soloists Michaela Cadwgan, Jennifer Huckle, Lila LJ Crichton and David Morriss.
