sing with us
The choir is always seeking to grow, so new members are always welcomed. There are no formal auditions. If you are interested in singing with us, you are invited to try the choir for two weeks (we rehearse weekly).
why sing with cantoris?
Great repertoire
When we ask choir members what they enjoy the most about singing with Cantoris, the most common response is the repertoire - we range far and wide through the rich world of choral repertoire on a journey that both challenges and inspires us as singers.
High quality direction
Cantoris has been very fortunate to enjoy extremely high quality Musical Direction. Our current Musical Director , Thomas Nikora brings with him a love for both late Romantic composers and also contemporary works. His excitement is infectious - making rehearsals and performances a real pleasure for all whilst achieving great outcomes.
Balancing accessibility and excellence
Whilst we usually tackle fairly challenging repertoire that requires a reasonable level of musical literacy and vocal ability, Cantoris strives to be welcoming to all singers with a baseline skills level. We provide introductory sessions and skills development workshops throughout the year with the aim of enabling less experienced singers to gain the skills and confidence to make a full contribution to the choir and to get the most out of singing with Cantoris. We also aim to support more advanced skills development such as directing, arranging etc.
