Here are the final details for our caroling activities on Saturday 19 December and our Cantoris Christmas Soirée. What you will find here:

Caroling programme - PDF of this is attached. It includes what verses we'll be singing for each song, from which book and page. Either print this out or make your notes in the books (use ONLY pencil please).

Te Papa - see attached visual aid to find your way round Te Papa and where we're congregating for call-time and the spot we're singing at.

Call and Start Times - Please be punctual and arrive at the call time for each venue so that we have time to arrange and organise ourselves. Start times for each venue has to start promptly as organised and agreed with the individual venues. 

Attire - white top and casual bottom (wear jeans if you want to) - and if you wish, with red or Christmas accents. This is casual, so full length covered legs etc are NOT required. Wear comfy clothing and shoes. I'll bring my bag of Christmas trinkets (reindeer antler headbands, Santa hats, etc) which will be distributed to whoever fancies being a little more festive while we sing our carols!

Parking:
  • Te Papa - there's parking at Te Papa of course, as well as right next to Te Papa (where the Sunday Harbourside Market operates) and off-street parking nearby. There's also a carpark (outdoor) next to Readings Cinema which you access from Wakefield Street (back of Readings).
  • Wellington Hospital, Newtown - apart from the carpark on hospital grounds, there is off-street parking nearby. We can also park (free) at the Cancer Society car park, 52 Riddiford Street (thank you Viv H for organising this!) - availability is limited so it's first come first parked! Be aware that street parking nearby is max 60mins only. We'll be at the hospital for 45mins max (call time + singing), so that should be okay.
  • Wellington Railway Station - there are a number of street parking and Wilson Parking around the train station. Just remember that off-street parking in the CBD is no longer free, but I believe cheaper than on a weekday. It'll be the last Saturday for shopping before Christmas, so the CBD may be busier than normal. So please try and leave as soon as you can from the Hospital to make your way to the Railway Station and find a carpark nearby.

Choir Christmas Soirée:
  • Food and drinks - Please bring a plate for our Christmas social. Just something to share (e.g. trimmings to go with bbq lamb and sausages, cold cuts, salads of any sort, finger foods, dessert, fruit etc). Please do not bring meat that requires cooking/BBQ-ing. There will be sausages and a lamb roast, so rest assured that there will be some meat for those of us that love our meaty protein! Drinkies are BYO of course.
